Mexican Korean Fusion in Chicago
Did you say vegan Mexican-Korean fusion?!? Don't threaten ME with a good time! I hit up Forastero, an unassuming vegan-friendly family-owned eatery on Chicago's north side.

I've been a few times and both times, it was pretty easy to find street parking.
Dani, the daughter of the owner and chef, said that I must try their vegan dak wings, Korean bbq "pork" sandwich and the "shrimp" bahn mi, so you know I did!
EVERYTHING was the bomb!! My fave was the shrimp bahn mi----the sauce, texture and flavors had me in foodie heaven.

Although they're not 100% vegan, they have a robust vegan menu that you gotta try. Other things on their vegan menu that are also tantalizing are their kimchi fries and "fish" tacos.
I'd recommend checking them out with small groups or a solo lunch and dinner. You can also do a pickup order.
Have you ever been to Forastero? If you get a chance to go, mention me, Plant-based Tamika, to enjoy free fries when you order their vegan dak wings!
