I am kicking off Black History Month right! I have featured Sweet Vegan Bakes before and I'm elated to do it again to share their adorably tantalizing Valentine's Day treats!
This black woman owned fully vegan bakery and café is located at 409 W. North Ave in Chicago, Illinois.
The owner, Chef Cheryl and her team are serving up all the treats for Valentine’s Day including:
Chocolate truffles
Chocolate covered strawberries
Cakes, cake jars, mini cakes
Cupcakes, cookies and more!
EVERYTHING at Sweet Vegan Bakes is vegan and they offer a bunch of gluten-free options. They cater to any dietary restriction (nut-free, sugar-free, etc).
They also have some absolutely delicious savory items including vegan crab cakes, vegan chicken and waffles, vegan wraps, burgers, vegan and gluten free pizza and more!

The owner of Sweet Vegan Bakes went vegan after being denied for medical insurance. She decided to take her health more seriously and found a new love in cooking and baking vegan! She lost over 100 pounds and has found a whole new passion through her journey. Sweet Vegan Bakes is currently, the only black-owned vegan bakery in Chicago. Chef Cheryl is working on opening a vegan brunch restaurant soon in Chicago south suburb, Richton Park, Illinois.
You may have seen her and her business in the news! Sweet Vegan Bakes offers specialty orders, cooking classes and catering as well.
