If you've been following me on social media, you know I have been mildly obsessed with house plants and dabbling in gardening. I knew I wanted to add a few more dramatic plants to my collection, so I took to Google and searched "black owned plant shops near me".

With the magic of Google, I was led to Plant Salon, a heavenly oasis of plants big and small in the West Town neighborhood. As soon as I walked in, my positive vibes flew off the charts.
With so many types of plants, planters, accessories at my fingertips, I immediately started touching, feeling and taking in all of the beauty. Service was excellent and I was able to meet the owner, Nika, who was very kind and full of plant tips.

I fell in love with so many plants, but knew I needed some easy to care for plants since I am a beginner (I have already killed a few plants and put some on life support in my short time). This Sansevieria Laurentii also known more commonly as a snake plant is not only stunning, but so easy to care for. I also adopted a Ficus Rubber Tree, some plant baskets and a few other smaller plants. They incorporated beautifully into my home! I know I will be getting some more and visiting Plant Salon to adopt a few more.

Whether you're a beginner with the plant life or a plantinista, they have something for you and have so many fabulous gift ideas! It was a one stop plant shop with one-on-one help, which is exactly what I need and appreciate. If you stop by Plant Salon, please tell them Chitown Vegan sent you! Have you started a plant collection? What types of plants do you have in your home? I'd love to hear from you and get some more plant inspo'!
