When the tropical vibe of Hawaii and Asian cuisine meet, you get AO Hawaiian Hideout! I've visited this fun, laid back South Loop spot before and I stopped back in to try some of their new vegan menu items, the Ma Po Tofu, Spicy Satay Tofu and some tried and true items like the Gamma vegan roll.
Everything I tried was so good! If you're not into spicy food or tofu, they have plenty of other options that are vegan-friendly as well. They also have lots of gluten-free items on the menu and a full bar, including non-alcoholic drinks—the virgin frozen mango colada was bomb!
This makes this spot a great place for groups, because they have something for everyone. On the weekends, they also have brunch with live Hawaiian music.
Mention me, Plant-Based Tamika, for a FREE vegan lumpia appetizer (fried spring rolls) when you dine in --they’re soooo good!
