When I heard that the newest Can't Believe It's Not Meat location in Old Town started offering brunch you know I had to make my way to try it. Whether you're vegan or not, this black-woman owned vegan-friendly restaurant is huge in Chicago and now has three locations - Hyde Park, Orland Park and now Old Town (come on growth)!
This was my first time visiting their newest location at 1143 N. Wells and I really loved the vibe. There were some Instagram-worthy photo backdrops and a fun energy overall.
At the moment, the Wells location offers brunch on weekends only (dine in, carry out, online order) and if you like, you can bring a bottle with brunch because this location is also a BYOB!
So down to the nitty gritty...the food! Here is what my friend and I had aka devoured:
Breakfast egg rolls w/maple syrup: These were so bomb; crunchy, with a Jimmy Dean-like somewhat spicy sausage, then you add on the maple syrup? YEEESSSSSSS.
Cookie Monster French Toast: This is definitely for folks that love the sweets! It was really yummy and pretty with red velvet chocolate cake kinda look to it.
Waffle Breakfast Sandwich: Whoooo chyyyld. This was so good and just a treat! Again, you gotta pour it up (the maple syrup) on this sandwich too. So tantalizing!
Supreme Omelette: Yall this omelette was loaded with veggies, vegan cheese and it was so freaking delicious. I threw my leftovers in the air fryer and OMG it was like it was freshly served!
When I tell y’all there were multiple foodgasms had, I lie to you NOT🤣👏🏽Everything was TANTALIZING.
There is metered street parking and I was able to pull up right to the front like I was VIP. The staff was super nice and the food was made fresh. I really had a great experience and would suggest this spot for a Girl's Day Out Brunch, Brunch with the boo or just a solo date! Either way, get there for some tantalizing vegan brunch in Chicago.
